Villainess at Midnight ("the App") is a romance fantasy story game developed and published by TidalAurum, LLC ("TidalAurum", "we", "us"). The App is distributed on Google Play under the package name com.linshuo.villainess. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the App.
Summary
- We do not collect personal data. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we do not run our own servers.
- Your story progress, settings and the heroine name you type in are stored only on your device.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may process your device's advertising ID, IP address (approximate location), device information and ad interactions.
- In-app purchases are processed by Google Play; we never receive your payment details.
- Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
- The App does not use any analytics, tracking or crash-reporting service of its own.
- The App is intended for users 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13.
Information stored on your device
Your story progress, choices, settings and the name you give the heroine are saved only on your device. The App has no accounts and we do not operate servers that receive data from the App, so we never receive or keep copies of this information. It is removed when you delete the App.
Advertising by Google AdMob
The App shows rewarded video ads and full-screen (interstitial) ads served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To serve, measure and protect ads, the SDK may collect the following data and share it with Google:
- Device or other IDs, such as the Android advertising ID.
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address.
- Device information, such as device model, operating system version and language.
- App interactions, such as ad views and ad taps.
- Diagnostics, such as ad-related crash logs and performance data.
This data is used for advertising or marketing, and for fraud prevention, security and compliance. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your privacy choices
The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for and record your privacy choices where the law requires it:
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: before personalized ads are served, the App shows Google's consent form, as required by the GDPR and similar laws. If you do not give consent, Google may still serve non-personalized ads, which rely on limited data such as general location and the content of the App.
- United States: where US state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the use of your data for personalized (targeted) advertising, which some of these laws treat as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
You can review or change your choices at any time in the App under Menu > Privacy Settings. You can also limit ad personalization for all apps in your Android settings (see "Data retention and deletion" below).
In-app purchases
The App offers optional purchases: diamonds and tickets (consumable items) and a season pass (a one-time purchase). Payment is processed entirely by Google Play Billing under Google's own terms and privacy policy. Google Play confirms the purchase to the App on your device so the item can be delivered. We never receive your name, email address, payment card or billing details.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the App schedules reminders on your device, for example when your tickets have refilled. These notifications are created locally; no notification data is sent to us or to any server.
Analytics
The App does not include any analytics, tracking or crash-reporting service of its own. The only third-party SDK that receives data is the Google Mobile Ads SDK described above, along with Google Play for purchases.
Data security
All data sent by the App, including data sent by the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google Play, is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS).
Data retention and deletion
We do not store any of your data on our servers, so there is no data held by us to delete. To remove your game data, delete the App from your device. To reset or limit the advertising identifier on Android, open Settings > Google > Ads (on some devices Settings > Privacy > Ads), then choose Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at nathanlinshuo@gmail.com.
Children
The App contains romance fantasy story content intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data for money. Information is shared only with Google AdMob and Google Play as described in this policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we do not hold personal data about you, requests about advertising data can also be made to Google directly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
