Last updated: October 10, 2026
Symmi Face ("the App") is a face analysis and facial symmetry app developed and published by TidalAurum, LLC ("TidalAurum", "we", "us"). The App is distributed on the Apple App Store as "Symmi Face : Asymmetrical Fix" under the bundle ID com.symmi.linshuo. This policy explains what the App does with information about you, and especially with information about your face.
Summary
- Everything about your face (photos, 3D face scans, facial landmarks, measurements, scores, reports and history) is processed and stored only on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we do not run our own servers.
- What leaves your device is non-facial operational data: pseudonymous usage events and subscription records, handled by the third-party services listed below.
- We do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- We do not sell your data, and the App does not show ads.
- The App is not intended for children under 13.
1. Face data
What is processed
Photo analysis. When you scan your face, the App finds facial landmarks (points that mark the eyes, brows, nose, mouth, jaw and face outline) in the photo and calculates measurements, proportions and symmetry scores from them. Landmarks are detected with Apple's Vision framework and with a face-landmark model bundled inside the App (MediaPipe).
3D face scan (TrueDepth). On devices with a TrueDepth camera, a scan uses Apple's ARKit face tracking to capture a 3D model of your face: the positions of the face-mesh points, how they connect, and a photo of your face mapped onto that model (the "skin" view). The App uses this model to show you a 3D view of your face that you can rotate, and to compare later scans with earlier ones.
Extra scan tools. Tools such as face shape, color season, skin map and eye shape (hunter or prey eyes) work from the photo of a scan you have already saved. Their results are calculated and kept only on your device.
Live AR view. The AR tab uses ARKit face tracking to draw measurement lines and a mirrored-symmetry preview over your face in real time. This data exists only in memory while the AR view is open and is discarded when you leave it. Nothing from the live AR view is saved, added to your history or transmitted.
ARKit face tracking is not Face ID. The App does not use any face data to recognize, identify or authenticate you.
Where it is processed
Entirely on your device. Face scanning, analysis and the AR view work without an internet connection, and no photo, camera frame, landmark, 3D model, measurement, score or report is ever sent to us or to any third party.
What is stored on your device
When an analysis completes, the App saves the following in its private storage on your device: the scanned photo (compressed), the measurements and their short descriptions, an overall score, a measurement report and the date. For a 3D scan it also saves the 3D face model and its skin image. Progress photos you add in the habit tracker, which you choose with Apple's photo picker, are stored the same way. Raw landmark coordinates are used in memory during analysis and are not saved.
What we do not do with face data
We do not upload, share or sell it. We do not use it for facial recognition, identification or authentication, to build profiles, for advertising, or to train AI models.
Retention and deletion
Your analyses, 3D models and progress photos stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete individual analyses from your history. Settings > Clear All Data deletes your entire analysis history at once, including all photos, measurements, scores, reports and 3D face models. Progress photos are deleted individually in the habit tracker. Deleting the App removes everything it stored on your device.
Backups
The App does not sync your data to iCloud or to any server. Like any app's local data, it is included in your iCloud backup or computer backup if you have backups turned on. It stays inside that backup, and we cannot access it.
2. Information you provide
During setup the App asks multiple-choice questions, for example how you feel about your face in photos, what brings you to the App, a question about the area you want to work on, and daily habits such as chewing on one side, clenching or grinding your teeth, breathing through your mouth or sleeping on your side. It also asks which areas of your face you want to work on. Your answers, preferences, habit check-ins and routine progress are stored on your device and used to personalize your plan.
Most of these answers, and the focus areas you select, are also sent to our analytics service (see below) as pseudonymous events, so that we can understand what users want. These events only ever contain the fixed answer options shown in the App, never free text, photos, measurements or scores. Some answers are never sent and stay only on your device, for example your answer about how your jaw feels.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply.
3. Third-party services
The App uses the services below. None of them receive photos, face data, measurements or scores.
PostHog (product analytics). Receives events about how the App is used, such as screens viewed, scans started, completed or failed, paywall views, the plan you tapped, purchase outcomes, questionnaire answers and habit or routine actions. It also receives app open and close events, the App version, device model, iOS version, screen size, language, time zone, network type, and your IP address, from which an approximate city-level location is derived. Events are grouped under a random identifier created on your device and are not linked to your name, email or any account. Session recording, automatic screen capture and crash reporting are turned off. PostHog may also be used to switch App features on or off remotely.
RevenueCat (subscription management). Receives an anonymous app user ID, your App Store purchase and subscription records, and Apple's Search Ads attribution token, which tells us whether the install came from one of our Apple Search Ads campaigns and does not require tracking permission. We use it to unlock and restore your subscription and to see which of our Apple Search Ads campaigns lead to subscriptions.
Apple. Subscriptions are bought and managed through the App Store. Apple processes your payment, and we never receive your payment details. If you have chosen to share analytics with developers in iOS settings, Apple may also send us anonymous crash reports.
4. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the App schedules reminders on your device, for example for your daily check-in or routine. They are created and delivered on your device, and no push server is involved. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above to run the App and personalize your plan, to process and restore subscriptions, to understand which features are used so we can improve the App, to measure whether our advertising works, to answer support requests, and to meet legal obligations.
6. Data sharing
We share data only with the service providers listed in section 3, for the purposes described there. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We never share face data with anyone. We may disclose information if required by law.
7. Your choices
- Delete your data: delete analyses from your history, use Settings > Clear All Data, or delete the App.
- Camera and notifications: allow or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Photos: progress photos are chosen with Apple's photo picker, which gives the App access only to the photos you pick and does not need library permission.
- Analytics: the App does not currently have an in-app switch to turn analytics off. Analytics data never includes face data.
- Data held by third parties: analytics and subscription data is identified only by random device-generated IDs, not by your name, email or any account, so we cannot look it up or tie it back to you. It is kept by those providers under their own retention policies and is not affected by deleting data in the App.
8. Your rights
Biometric privacy laws. Facial landmarks, measurements and 3D face models are processed only on your device, only when you start a scan, and are never disclosed to us or to any third party. We do not sell, lease or otherwise profit from biometric data. Where biometric privacy laws apply, starting a scan is your consent to this on-device processing, and you can delete the results at any time as described above.
California. You have the right to know what personal information we collect (described in this policy), to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Our legal bases are your consent for the on-device face analysis you start, and our legitimate interests for pseudonymous analytics, advertising measurement and purchase validation. You may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict your data and to object to its processing. Because the data that leaves your device is not linked to your identity, we usually cannot find records belonging to a particular person; contact us and we will help where we can. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Data security
Data stored by the App stays in the App's private storage, which iOS protects with your device passcode. Data sent to the services above travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
10. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the App, deleting the App removes everything it stored on the device. You can also contact us.
11. International users
Face data is processed on your device wherever you are. The services in section 3 may process pseudonymous, non-facial data on servers in the United States and other countries.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
October 2026: this policy moved to tidalaurum.com from its earlier Google Sites address. It now also covers 3D face scans, measurement reports, the extra scan tools, questionnaire answers sent to analytics, and notifications. The App no longer uses AppsFlyer. Setup no longer asks for your age range or gender; earlier versions asked for both and sent the selected options to analytics.
